Growing Stronger

“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”     Hard beating,  encouraging  lyrics, and energetic tempo make me completely fall in love with “Stronger”, sang by Kelly Clarkson. The reason I like this song is because it reflects my bare true feeling recently. My wounded soul would get soothed after I listen to it. Sometimes I will step back and tell myself life is not as hard as I think. The way the thing develops depends how I look at it and how I try to solve the problem. I always tell myself with more efforts, I can make it. Do not look back and move forward. However, to say is one thing and to do is another.     I take the course of shadowing this semester and I see it as a turning point in my English-learning process. Not until that I have taken this course do I realize how poor my English is. I totally fail to catch up with the speed of the speaker and coherence of the sentences when shadowing. In the meantim...

Reflection on ethnocentrism.

After seeing the movie named 'The Last Days" in a class yesterday, it again strikes a chord in my mind.      This is the second time I saw this documentary. Last time , three years ago or so,  I saw it with a casual attitude. Ethnocentric and patriotic, Hitler tried his "best" to eliminate the inferior race--- the Jews. The Nazi carried out toxic and fatal gas experiments on Jews and tried them inhumanely, the ruthlessness of racism was totally unacceptable. The racist policy led to numerous death tolls of the J...

Budapest ,  Hungary    Danube  Riverside "A breathtaking picture like this always marvels me for a long while.  Meanwhile, I am lost in my imagination."     I am addicted to traveling.      L iving in the boisterous downtown, we barely have time to pay attention to the tranquil and peaceful nature--- turquoise ocean, lofty trees, and fragrant blossoms. We are prone to neglect those terrific subtle and tiny happiness around us. In turn, under heavy stress, we sometimes find ourselves pathetic and cynical, confusing about what we are living for. In order t o ease the pressure-burdened life, traveling is the best remedy in my point of view. It adjusts my living pace and makes me contemplate over some preconceived thoughts.  Traveling enriches my spirit and provides me with brand-new perspectives and inspirations toward the whole world. Apart from that, what I gain from traveling is that I know myself bet...
