Essence of Life (revised 1)
When it comes to the essence of life, love will undoubtedly be my first answer. Life is based on love. Without love, we would not lead a worthy and wonderful life. The question is what are the propellers that infuse love inside us? For me, I categorize three major features that will bring about this essence--- love your friends, love your family and love yourself.
Firstly, friends are indispensable in every phase of life. We make different friends and the ones who will always stand by our side when we are in need are the real precious friends. As the saying goes, “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” Maintaining a well relationship with friends is necessary. They share our joyful and sorrowful moments. When we are depressed, our friends listen to us and give us advice on how we can react. Friends can put themselves in our shoes; when we are delighted, we share the happiness with them. We blurt out hooray and burst out laughing to enjoy the awesome and unforgettable yet fleeting moment.
I love my friends. We share our feelings towards one another and we hang out together. A small talk, a gathering, even a promenade, could be as pleasant as well. By gathering with friends, I realize that the place where my friends and I are going is not important. What matters is their accompanying. We learn from each other and we fight for our dream by boosting counterpart's morale.

Secondly, family plays a more crucial role. Solid and impeccable, family is the anchor we could always rely on. It embraces us with unselfishness and offers us with great love and care. From which, we feel warmth at all times.
When we were little, we spent most of our time with our family and we even took it for granted. In other words, we did not cherish it. When we gradually grow up, we suddenly realize our family is the last and only shelter we could take.
I am a person who gets nervous very easily, especially when I encounter some events that I consider important. Anxious, overwhelmed, and beaten are my exact feelings. Take the days preparing for the entrance exam for example, I suffered a lot and could not calm myself down. It was my parents that gave me the concrete helpful encouragement, telling me to take it easy. Although I heard those words from my teachers and friends very often, it was different when those words were spoken out by my parents. I could not specify what was the difference but I guessed it might be sort of relief and comfort I got from the ones who know me from head to toe.

I enjoy family gathering and I cherish these moments a lot because in the darkest and desperate moments in life, only family will back me up. I love my family--- my mother, my father and my brother. They are my dearest ones on earth. I am so fortunate to have them in my life. "Euphoria" is the only word I could express to my family.
Last but not least, we must learn how to love ourselves. Only those who know how to love themselves have the ability to love others. Therefore, to know and recognize ourselves in order to accept and love our true self is a must. How do we know who we are? The best way is to be alone. There are desolate and solitude moments when we could only turn to ourselves. We should calm down and let inner voice guide us--- tell us who we are, what we want and what to do.
"Who am I?"
"Am I staying on the right path?"
Sometimes people just need to be alone, strive for what we want, and walk our own path for a while. Bewildered and lost, notwithstanding, we have to follow our heart. We could figure out the key to the answer by taking the road we are willing to step on. Additionally, I learn that sometimes we can not center ourselves as the chief on stage because the world was not created for us and so we have to adjust our way of subjective thinking. From self-exploring, we learn ourselves better, benefit within and without, and finally have the capacity to love.

Love appears in different forms and it is the foundation of life. Love is what makes life colorful and meaningful. At the same time, it is also a profound philosophy difficult to fathom. To get a thorough understanding of love is impossible; nevertheless, we can try our best to manage it well. In certain aspect, we live our life to the fullest by knowing how to love and to be loved by those concerned, including ourselves.
